Two Glasses Clicking for 2018

The holiday season is certainly in full swing! If you didn’t catch our blog on Holiday dining spots last month, make sure to check it out here and spend some quality time with friends and family this season.

But with all the holiday excitement don’t forget that New Year’s Eve is just around the corner! We’ve rounded up a few ideas that we've seen and think are great. Most of these events DO need tickets, and some sell out fast, so plan now! Grab your significant other or a group of friends and greet 2018 with fun and cheer.

Royal B.C. Museum

The museum’s annual party “Early Shift. Going Wildly into the New Year” is back again.

This fun, family-oriented party in the Natural History gallery runs on New Year’s Eve from 6 – 8:30 pm. So have some family fun, then send the kids home with a babysitter and head out for some other events listed below!

NYE Extravaganza Club Crawl 2018

If you're still firmly in your "clubbing" years, or want to relive those days (hey - there’s NO limit!), this is a fantastic event to do so. Buy a ticket, meet at the first club, then get shuttled along to different clubs throughout the night.

The Fairmont Empress

The iconic Empress hotel once again offers not one, not two, but three New Year’s Events!

Hit up the Q at the Empress for a decadent five-course meal and some entertainment. OR enjoy an "around the world" themed dinner buffet and gala in their spectacular Crystal Ballroom.

The Lobby Lounge is where the black tie Gala Party is happening. Local jazz wizard Amanda Woods will be live and dancing IS encouraged!

Hotel Grand Pacific

The ultra luxe Pacific Restaurant is offering a scrumptious three-course dinner along with live entertainment and festivities throughout the night.

Vista 18

High atop the Chateau Victoria is the Vista 18 offering some of the best views in Victoria. It’s a great place to go to anytime but this New Year’s Eve, they're offering their "Jazzy New Year’s Eve" party offering "great food, classic libations, cool jazz, subtle humour and other funky stuff". We’re not sure what that means exactly but it’s bound to be pretty darn fun and memorable!

Bear Mountain Resort

For those not wanting to head downtown on New Year’s Eve, the Bear Mountain resort also offers TWO New Year’s events!

A gala event and buffet is perfect for a group and offers entertainment along with local seasonal fare. Otherwise, head to Bella Restaurant and enjoy a more intimate five-course dinner and ballroom dancing with someone special.

Prestige Oceanfront Resort

Sooke does it up right offering their “Pirates of Sooke Basin” event at the West Coast Grill!

This spectacular event promises to be an evening of fun. Partake in a five-course meal, DJ and dancing, champagne toasts and yes, even awards – go ahead try to win "Best dressed".

Mary Winspear Centre

Once again, Sidney is offering “New Year’s Eve with the Timebenders”. If you’re on the Peninsula, you’re likely familiar with this New Year’s event.

For those not in the know, the Timebenders are a must see! Music fans of all ages will love and appreciate the costume changes and choreography they put on as you are taken on an irresistible romp through the ages of dance music.

Merridale Cidery and Distillery

Worth the wee drive to Cobble Hill, Merridale Cidery puts on their pre-countdown New Year’s Eve dinner along with wine pairings, of course.

Luckily, a lot of these venues are in hotels so getting home can be as simple as stumbling upstairs to a room you’ve booked. But if you need to get home, make sure to have a designated driver in your group or book (250-661-0181) to get you all home safely.

If you know of any other amazing events, keep us updated in the comments.

We hope you have a fabulous New Year’s Eve – and here’s to an amazing 2018!
